Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to all design services provided by Dysfunktion Aesthetics. By engaging services, the client agrees to the following conditions.
Confidentiality
All information shared by the client with Dysfunktion Aesthetics is treated as confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of providing design services and delivering the agreed project.
Personal or project information will not be shared with third parties unless prior discussion and agreement has taken place.
Rights & Image Usage
The client is granted an exclusive licence for the final approved design.
Final files are supplied in the necessary formats, including PNG, JPG, and PDF where applicable. Title PNGs are provided to support consistent branding across a book or series.
Editable source files (including PSD or other master files) are not provided under any circumstances.
The client agrees not to alter, modify, or adapt the completed design without written consent from Dysfunktion Aesthetics.
Stock imagery used in design work is licensed through platforms such as Depositphotos or Shutterstock and is covered under standard licensing terms, typically limited to 500,000 units. This licence does not include use of the design on merchandise such as mugs, stickers, apparel, or other commercial products.
If the client intends to use the design for merchandise, this must be disclosed in advance and may require the purchase of an extended licence at additional cost.
Clients may supply their own imagery, however all supplied assets must meet technical requirements. Proof of licensing and usage rights must be provided for any client-supplied images.
Client Responsibilities
It is the client’s responsibility to order and review physical or digital proofs before releasing a book for sale. This ensures any issues can be identified and addressed in a timely manner.
The client must provide accurate and final printing specifications, including printer details, trim size, paper colour, and final page count. Printer templates may be required.
Any changes to size, format, or specifications after design work has commenced are not included in the original package and will incur additional fees. This applies to cover design, formatting, and graphics.
Communication
All communication relating to design projects must take place via email. This ensures clear record-keeping and avoids loss of information. Communication through social media or other platforms is not accepted for project management.
Dysfunktion Aesthetics is based in Australia. Response times may be affected by time zone differences. Any planned time off or delays will be communicated via social platforms, Patreon, and the website announcement banner.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required to secure a booking. If the client cancels, 25% of the total project fee is forfeited.
Final payment is required once designs have been approved. No files will be released until full payment has been received.
After final approval, no further changes will be made except for minor text updates such as blurb changes. Any additional revisions or alterations will be charged accordingly.
Failure to make payment may result in the project not being scheduled or completed.
All payments are invoiced and processed via PayPal. No alternative payment methods are available at this time.
Time Frames
Dysfunktion Aesthetics works on a project-based schedule. As such, fixed turnaround times are not guaranteed, particularly for series work or multi-service projects.
If a client requires expedited delivery, Dysfunktion Aesthetics reserves the right to apply an additional fee.
Responsibility for poor time management or undisclosed deadlines rests with the client. All deadlines and expectations must be communicated at the time of booking.
Attribution
Credit for cover design, formatting or additional design services must be included in the book’s copyright page.
While not mandatory, attribution is appreciated when design work is shared on websites or social media, including tagging Dysfunktion Aesthetics where possible.
